So quite and tranquil... The field seemd like a perfect haven for the deer. The adults of the herd grazed, while the fawns scampered about without a care in the world. Their leader, the big brute that watched over them all, couldn't see the hidden black demon, wedged under a bush not but a few yards away from them. He watched, through bright emerald optics as they moved about the land...

His muscles, thick and toned underneath a scared black pelt, tensed as he prepared for an attack, his paws pulled him inches closer, his massive body pressed against the ground... Then, he sprung. His long stocky legs propelled him into the air, hid feet hiting the ground a couple feet from the nearest doe. She bleated in surprise, turning on a dime and bounding away, but the brute had a lead on her. His legs pounded against the ground, pushing him forward faster and faster until he was upon the fleeing doe. He snapped at her legs, nipping the thin appendages. He latched onto her left hiding, flicking his head to the side and snapping the fragile pillar. She toppled to the ground, crying out in pain! THe brute wasted no time, climbing onto of her struggling form and latching onto the bottom of her neck. He clenched his jaws together, his razor-sharp teeth slicing through muscles and veins. Blood squirted into his mouth, filling his throat and quenching his thirst. He shook his head violently, shredding her neck until she finally stop fighting. He let go and stepped back, staring down at his work. A perfect kill.

He didn't wait for the female in the bushes. He dug into the meal, ripping open the stomach and ripping away pieces of flesh. He gobbled them up, barely stopping to chew. He only paused when the delicate female appeared on the other side of the kill. She flashed him a smile before digging in as well.

" A wonderful meal," chimed the female as she sat back on her haunches. The deer had been demolished, little of its tender meats remaining. She smiled at her brother as she lifted her paw, licking the liquid off of it before doing the same with her muzzle.

" As always," the brute replied, smirking as he sat back as well.

" You're so full of yourself, Vayn," she teased softly.

He rolled his eyes, standing up and walking to sit next to her. He touched the side of her face with his nose, licking her muzzle before pulling away.
" I know, but you love me," he replied, flashing a bloody grin.

She chuckled.
" I know," she sighed, glancing up. The clouds rolled across the sky, twisting into fluffy shapes as they blocked the sunlight. She smiled weakly as she made a wolf, out of one of them. " I wonder where mother is?" she questioned, glancing over at him.

" I don't know, Aqrila," he replied softly, glancing at the ground. " I don't know."

Was it far enough?

The question lingered like a sentence of death among the tall grasses, now golden with the turn of fall. The field of grasses stretched on endlessly without a break. Small creatures bounded about, scurrying to and fro preparing for the coming winter, paying no attention to the lone figure slowly making her way to nowhere. Lost? The word seemed to taunt her, causing her more pain and anguish, oh how she felt anguish. Where were they? So many questions filled the figure’s mind, causing her even more distress. It seemed so long ago that she was young, reckless, and independent. A shiver went down her spine, and her face contorted in agony as another memory, a fresher memory came to mind- the day Kane came to call. Another shiver rippled down her lean body. Shaking her head to clear the heart stopping thoughts, she promised herself that she would find her family, she would piece them together.

The wind ripped through the grasses again, harder and stronger this time. The weather was getting intense, stronger, and harder- Winter was knocking on the door. Aconite shook, her body adjusting to the chilling wind, her body was tired, broken emotionally and physically. She was loosing her will, her strength to fight for her family. A sob ripped through her body, she could not do this. She could not find them, as the wind beat down upon her. “Darrian!” She screamed, hoping irrationally that her lover would hear her and that he would come dashing to her rescue.

With her body tucked low to the ground, Aconite hobbled to an old fox hole, a little indention on the ground, but a more than welcoming place to regain one’s strength. Curling her body into the sunken ground, Aconite took a deep breath before closing her eyes and succumbing to nightmares of Kane.

Darrian!

Vayn blinked, not reacting at first. How many times had he hallucinated; dreamed of his mother's voice? It was too good to be true, but it sounded so... real. So sad and weak. She'd never sounded like that before... he'd always dreamed of her strong, loving voice... not the hopeless scream he'd just heard.

" Vayn, did you hear that?" Aqrila asked, looking up at her brother.

So she had heard it to? Then it couldn't be a dream... It had to be real! He jumped up, turning in a full circle in hopes of spotting the multi-toned fae. He couldn't see her... but they had heard her.
" She's here Aqrila!" he exclaimed, excitement and adrenaline coursing through him as he searched the plain frantically.

Could it be? Could she really have found them?
Aqrila stood up, still unsure. It had been so long... why would Liam bless them now? What had they done? She whimpered, nipping at his shoulder as she shook her head.
" I don't think so Vayn... I don't think she's ever coming back."

" I heard her though! YOU heard her!" he countered, shaking his head as he started forward. " She's here, and I'm going to find her," he added. He turned away from her and started off.

Aqrila sighed, but trudged after him. She wasn't going to get her hopes up, only to be disappointed.

Where was he?
How far had he come? Not far enough, he knew. It was never far enough.
Was he lost? Definitely.
Where was his family? He didn't know, but he was determined to find them.

The vast expanse of tall golden grasses covered brute's vision. He was surrounded in chest deep grass, pressing forward against the harsh winds of the oncoming winter. The wind whipped madly through the grass, nearly knocking the brute down as he stepped against its force. Small creatures bounded happily around him, gathering materials to prepare for the coming winter; they paid no attention to the solitary brute that wandered toward wherever the day took him. He was lost; he knew it. But he'd been lost for the past... 500 or so days, and he was close to loosing hope.

His mind flooded with thoughts, visions and memories that only caused him more pain. His face was stuck in a contorted grimace, as he saw his family, and saw all of the wolves that surrounded him in his final memory. Kane, his mates, and two brutes he didn't know where circled around his broken body, staring downa t him with malicious eyes. They all chuckled madly, before everything went black. He remembered waking up a year and a half ago, lost and alone. He hadn't known how far they'd taken him, or where they'd taken his family. He just started walking, rarely eating, never sleeping as he looked determinedly for his family.

He shivered as he shook his head madly, trying to rid himself of the painful memories. He'd realized a long time ago that he would never find them, but by that time he had already gone partially mad. He was numb, and wouldn't accept the dim conclusion that they'd never be together again. So he pressed on, day in and day out searching for a lost hope.
Darrian's paws stopped, and he sighed. He was loosing his will. He walked less and less every day; it realizing he couldn't do this even when his mind pressed on hysterically. A sob ripped through his body as he accepted that he couldn't go any farther today, and doubted he'd be able to even start again tomorrow.

Darrian!

Another sob, this time his body fell to the ground. He didn't wish to find shelter, he didn't deserve it. The call, another hallucination he believed, only hurt him more. Why did his mind torment him so? Cause these hallucinations that had given him false hope so many times before? Just taunting him?
He whimpered, raising his dial just a few inches.

" Aconite!" he screamed back, with the last bit of strength he could muster.

“Trudge, Trudge, Trudge,” The whine began, “that is all we ever do now!” The figure complained to his companion, “If only Kane had not come, we would still be at the den.” The whiner sighed; he was younger and smaller than his companion, “Mom, where are you?”

“Would you rather stay still and let Kane get us?” The companion snapped, his temper had been flaring for last couple of hours.

Ausbach’s questions and remarks targeted memories that Daven had been fighting to keep hidden. Daven picked up his pace, each step longer than the last until the distance between Ausbach and him were too great to count. “Mom,” he whispered, “why haven’t you come to find me?” His eyes scanned the tall grasses, nothing but golden background.

Ausbach sighed as he watched his older brother put yards of distance between them; he did this all the time. “Am I that annoying? Am I that bothersome?” Ausbach thought as he followed slowly after his brother. The terrain had changed from the clustered forest to this open field, gold and russet color attacked his senses, each flash of gold reminded him of his mother’s soft eyes and warm smile. “Maybe that is why Daven cannot stand me, I look too much like my mother.”

ACONITE!

Heart-pounding and eyes flashing, Daven turned, his body a whirl of muscle and flesh, “It is Dad,” He shouted to Ausbach, “you heard him, right?” Daven’s voice began to crack, his emotions were out of control, his heart pounded, and his breath quickened. Their dad was near, he was about to be with his family. Every night for the past year, he had dreamed of this moment, reuniting with his family. Today, it would happen.

In a moment of pure ecstasy, Ausbach caught himself as his jaw dropped, “DAD!” he yelled with excitement as his tail thumped back and forth. In the past year, he had not felt a shred of happiness comparable to before the night Kane came to call. He had dreamed of seeing Aqrila again, his beautiful sister, his beautiful sister- so full of life and love. And his mother, his proud and nurturing mother. Ausbach glanced towards the sky before leaping into a run after his brother.

Daven took off, his body bunching with excitement and adrenaline, like during hunting. “DAD!” he yelled, hoping to get a trace of his father’s scent. Slowing to a walk, he allowed Ausbach to catch up, “ It is okay, Ausbach, we will find him. He is close, I just know it.”

----------------------------------------------

Somewhere within her own dreams, a shout rang out. Her names, her own name from the lips of someone she loved. “Darrian.” She whispered, slowly lifting her head from her paws.

Her ears pricked as she listened, hoping that the wind would carry a voice, and she lifted her nose to the breeze, hoping to catch a familiar scent in the wind. Standing now, on shaky paws, Aconite glanced down a stretch of tall grass. No one. A sigh released itself from her muzzle, her slender muzzle twisted in agony. “I was not hallucinating!” She shouted, as if yelling it would convince her of the fact.

“I will find them.” She promised as she lifted her muzzle, once more to catch a scent.

Aqrila whimpered. They'd been walking for several minutes, but hadn't caught a single scent out of place, seen a single wolf, or even heard another sound. How many times before had they thought they'd heard one of them, and set out only to come back empty-pawed? Why would this time be any different? It wouldn't, and she knew it. Even though she tried to believe, she knew that both of their parents were long gone; dead. Kane had killed them; him and those two males that had trapped them in the cave.
She shook her head as she trudged after him. Kane was the source of all their misery, and yet they had vowed to protect him, fight for him just days after it had all happened. She despised herself for agreeing to it... But what was she to do? Vayn had been so badly injured, they had no wehre else to go. If it hadn't been for that fae of Kane's, he would've died. Aqrila sighed as she stopped.

" Vayn, there is no one out here. Just... give up."

His ears fell back as she spoke. Vayn swirled around on a dime, staring down at Aqrila with hard, angry emerald eyes.

" I'm NEVER giving up!" he snarled madly. " How can you even suggest that!"

Aconite!
DAD!

Aqrila blinked, forgetting about the massive black male hissing down her throat as she turned to stare toward the source of the sound. The first, was definitely their father. No way could she mistake his voice after she had dreamed of it for so long. The second one though, was strong and masculine, yet still held a puppyish tint...

" Was that... Ausbach?" Her heart stopped, then fluttering again with hope. She wanted to see Ausbach almost more than she wanted to see her parents. They were perfect together, inseparable. She loved him more than life itself, and now he was here? After so long!

" And dad!" he replied, all of his anger vanishing as excitement filled him again. This was it, there was no mistaking it. They were all here, they would all be reunited today! Vayn shook his head, glancing at Aqrila then taking off at a dead run toward some different direction. THey were all scattered about that massive field, and he was determined to find them. The family that he had despised when they were together, was all he wanted now. His personality had flipped completely.

" Ausbach! Daven!" he yelled, bounding across the golden ground. " Mother! Father!"

"Ausbach!" she chimed, taking off after Vayn. She steered a few feet to the left of him, her paws pounding against the ground as she raced to find the wolves she'd missed for so long. She caught up to Vayn, and turned her head to smile at him... When she suddenly stopped moving. She felt a sharp pain shoot through her chest as it collided with something large and hard. Instinctively she closed her eyes, drawing her paws close to her body as she began... tumbling? Her nose flooded with the smell of male, and she felt a soft foreign fur against her face and chest... who was this?

{That's intended to be Ausbach... If you don't mind. :] }

DAD! Ausbach! Daven! Mother! Father!

Darrian's body twisted on the ground, the massive black beast contorted in anguish. The voices sounded in his ears, one after the other! One unbelievable, unreal vocie right after the other! Would this torment ever end! They swirled around him, taunting him for all of his failures! His mind replayed the voices of his children, all figments of his imagination just toying with him! This wasn't real, why should he be reunited with them, when all he'd ever done in his life was wrong? He didn't deserve it, that's why he refused to believe the voices were real.
His paws clawed frantically at his muzzle and face, trying to rid himself of the taunting sounds. They ripped through his skin, covering his black muzzle in crimson blood. He roared in pain, both emotional and physical as he slid onto his side.

Ausbach!
His darling little girl, so pure and sweet... Why did his mind do this to him?

" GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" he snarled, shaking madly as violent sobs ripped through him. His face became soaked with tears as he cried uncontrollably, his body curling into a ball as he covered his eyes with his paws. " Get out, leave me alone," he pleaded, his voice broken and weak. " I'll never find them..."

-I do not mind one bit :)-

“AH!” the shriek filled the air as the mass of fur and muscle tumbled into a stop after colliding with the most delicate speed bump ever created, its scent caused his hear to thump and his mouth to water. “Aqrila!” the cry came out in a hoarse whisper, definitely not the kind a macho, male wolf would claim- but since when had he ever been like Daven. Ausbach began his attack on his lovely sister, his tongue could not spread kisses fast enough; he had missed her like sunflowers miss the sun after a day of storms. “Aqrila.” He exclaimed again, nuzzling her- making sure that this was not just another dream. This was REAL! He could not believe that Vayn and Aqrila were here. He would be able to find his family again, they would become whole.

Ausbach turned to his sister, bouncing with puppyish excitement, “I have missed you, Aqrila. We have been looking for you guys for so long and we have been lost at least a thousand times, Daven kept on making us running around in circles.” He said, breaking off to smile at his older brother.

Ausbach turned back to his sister, she had gotten so beautiful, “ You look really pretty, Aqrila. What have you been eating? I have gotten bigger too, have you noticed?” He chattered on, filling the silence with endless little talk.

Daven finally registering the presence of the other half of his family, allowed the expression of complete and utter joy to show in his expression. “Vayn,” He said, clearing his throat, hoping that his voice did not portray his emotions, “I forgive you.” Daven released a shaky breath; he had waited a year to see his brother-to tell Vayn that him siding with Kane against the family was dishonorable, to both the family and to his siblings. Daven shook as the effect of his words to his brother, caught himself off guard. Daven rubbed the length of his body against his brothers, showing him the relief he felt to see him. “Where have you guys been?” He asked, thoroughly interested. Ausbach and himself had traveled to various place, and he was pretty sure that it was another territory.

“Have you seen or heard Mom or Dad?” Daven asked, curiosity peaking to see if they heard the same shouts of misery, “I thought we heard Father some where off in this direction, but I could be mistaken.” Daven desperately hoped that they could find their parents.
--------------------------------------------------

Talking?

Aconite hobbled faster, her resolve strengthening as she heard noises in the distance; could this lead be her family? Would she be able to see the pups again? Would they recognize her? So many questions, of course- they would all be answered when she found the source of the noise, but still- one could worry, right?

“Darrian? Ausbach, her precious pup? Aqrila, the beautiful sweetheart? Daven, the strength? Vayn, the silent one? “ She called, each name brought back memories of happiness, but each brought back a little pang of sadness.

Aconite froze as a rustle came from her far left; she hesitated before placing her paw onto the ground, hoping that a noise would not ensue.
Sobbing?

Something was hurting, something was in tremendous pain. “ I have to help.” Aconite declared before casting a longing glance in the direction of the voices, “It will only be a moment.”

Aconite moved to the sobbing figure, her steps silent and her eyes open wide, hoping that she would be able to help the poor soul. The massive figure lay in the distance, a black massive of contorted flesh, writhing with agony. Inner agony.

Recognition filled Aconite and without thinking she released a tiny whimper, “ Darrian. Oh, my Darrian.” Aconite rushed towards the figure, calling out its name in fervor. “It is Aconite, my love. Wake up.”

As they stopped tumbling and the large mass of wolf called her name, Aqrila squealed with excitement as she realized who she had hit. She giggled uncontrollably as he crawled on top of her, showering her face in licks and nuzzles. There was no way this couldn't be real. His body felt so real pressed against hers, and the dull ache in her chest from the impact was definitely for real... And if Ausbach was real, then the other calls they heard had to have been real too. Their parents were here...

" Oh Ausbach!" she cried, pulling herself to her paws as he moved back. She grinned, pushing herself against him and throwing her neck over his in a hug. " I've missed you too... so much." She grinned as she stepped back, her entire body quivering with excitement as she stared at her ecstatic brother.

" Thanks... Yes, I have. You're so tall! And handsome!" she replied, staring up at the male. He was smaller than both Vayn and Daven, but he was still considerably larger than her... My had he grown up! " Deer mostly," she chuckled, reaching forward to nuzzle him again. " Vayn is quite the hunter."

She shook her head, stepping back and glancing over to Daven for the first time. Utter shock kept her from being the bouncy pup she had always been, not believing something so great could be true.
" This is real," she muttered, smiling back at Ausbach.

Vayn stopped as he heard the pointless chatter erupt behind him. Aqrila and another. He turned on his heels, spotting her and his younger brother bouncing around each other. He blinked, not believing his eyes at first. His brothers... that he hadn't seen in a year were here. All of this was real, they would be reunited today.

Vayn

He turned his head to see the large brute standing over him.
" Daven..." he muttered, stepping forward without realizing it and throwing his neck over his. His muzzle was pulled into a wide grin, his excitement hardly barely as he fought the urge to bounce around like Aqrila and Ausbach.

I forgive you...

His expression faded as he pulled away. In the peak of all of his joy, he'd completely forgotten that his family should hate him. He had betrayed them all, worked with Kane to have them all killed, all because of the female. He sighed as he looked away, the reunion not being quite so amazing. He remembered who he was, the silent wolf that nobody liked, not the lovable brute Aqrila had managed to turn him into.
" I'm sorry," he mumbled, looking up. He'd forgiven him though, and the large male pressed himself against his side.

Where have you guys been?

" Right here," he muttered, almost embarrassed that they hadn't been searching like the others had. " I was almost dead after it all happened... Aqrila and I stayed with Kane, hoping you all weren't too far away..." HE paused, realizing that they probably didn't know they were standing in Kane's territory. " We're in Kane's territory, right now."

Darrian? Ausbach, her precious pup? Aqrila, the beautiful sweetheart? Daven, the strength? Vayn, the silent one?

He smiled as he heard their mother's voice again, much closer now. They were close, very close.
" Yes, we heard both of them," he replied, looking back at Daven.

Darrian. Oh, my Darrian.

" Stop, stop. Out of my head!" he pleaded, hearing the voices again in the distance. He pulled his paws over his ears, pulling them down over themselves to try and block out the sound. He whimpered helplessly, his body staying stationary now. He trembled uncontrollably as he cried.

It is Aconite, my love. Wake up.

Oh, how sweet it sounded. He soft words of h is lover... how marvelous it would be if they were real... He whimpered again, then he felt something against him. Soft, wolven fur rubbing softly against his face, his body. He blinked, eyes opening and taking in his surroundings. The blood, covering his nose; splattered on the ground. The massive scrapes and holes he'd dug in the ground... And Aconite.

" Aconite..." he said softly, pulling his head away from her to look over the thin, feminine body. It wasn't a dream... She was here.
" Oh, love!"
His pain and weakness disappeared as adrenaline filled his veins. He pulled himself unsteadily to his feet, smiling weakly down at the beautiful fae before him. He stepped forward, nuzzling his face against hers and showering her face in kisses.
" It's real, you're really here..." he cried, his eyes clouding with tears as he pressed he neck against hers, holding her there as cried with joy.

As she watched the limp figure loll his head around to stare at her, to determine if she was real or not, was a painful experience. What had happened to her mate? His body looked twisted and tormented, as if he was plagued with nightmares- strange, unforgiving nightmares. Her heart broke as he pleaded for the visions to remove themselves from his memory. “Darrian.” She whispered softly, choking on the word as her heart lodged itself in her throat. Turning her body around, for a moment, to collect her disposition before touching her lover, waking him from the nightmare, they had all lived in for so long.

‘Aconite’

Hearing her name for the first time since Kane, sent shivers down Aconite’s spine. “Darrian!” She gasped as she turned to face her mate. Smiling back at her mate, Aconite felt giddy as he rained kisses upon her face, “Darrian” She mumbled, she had forgotten how good it was to be kissed and nuzzled, this year had been hard on all of them.

While returning his kisses, Aconite suddenly jumped up with surprise and immense shock, “The PUPS!” she exclaimed, “They are .., I heard…, I am sure of it this time!” Aconite nodded off in a random direction, all that could be seen was the tips of the tall weeds. “Children!” She called out, hoping for anything, a response, a noise, something that would bring their family back.
_________________________________________

‘….Aqrila and I stayed with Kane’

A silence hung in the air, after Kane’s name was mentioned. Ausbach shuttered, approximately three times, in succession. “Aqrila,” He asked, frightened, “are you going to tell Kane that we are here?” Ausbach moved away from his beloved sister, afraid that the answer would be yes.
His murky yellow eyes remained strong even though his body stiffened; perhaps he was not as cowardly as he led others to think. Ausbach glanced to Daven, looking toward his older brother for answers, for a response. His dusky gray body shifted to and fro, as he waited for Daven’s response. Of course, knowing that his brother would only respond in one of three ways was a plus- he could easily curb the response. His harden expression indicated that it would probably result in a violent reaction or indifference. Definitely not sympathy or acceptance.

‘CHILDREN’

Ausbach froze, “Mother?” he murmured, questioning his sanity at the moment.

‘….Aqrila and I stayed with Kane’

Daven froze, “ You stayed with him?” He said fixing Vayn with a stare, “ I understand staying with him while you are hurt, but now?” He asked, his expression leaning more towards indifference than violence.
Daven glanced around the field, shaking his body as shivers ran up and down his spine, “I had assumed that we were on Kane’s land,” he began, nonchalantly, “ Ausbach and I ventured into a neutral territory, hoping that Mother or Father had ventured that far, as well. But alas, we could not and returned here- in hopes of finding them.”

His lean body shook with impatience, “Does your allegiance lie with Kane?” His blue eyes glistened with question, hoping, wishing that Vayn and Aqrila had not sided against the family.

‘CHILDREN!’

All questions forgotten, Daven lifted his muzzle towards the overcast sky and called back, “MOTHER!” impulse ruling his actions, causing him to yell without thinking, what if it was Kane? What if, there were a lot of What-ifs in the past year. More than enough!

Aqrila whimpered as Ausbach moved away from her, the motion heartbreaking. They'd waited for so long to be reunited... but now, they were seemingly willing to leave them because of what they had to do? She stared at the ground, shaking her head vigorously.

" I don't know. I don't know whether it would be wiser to confront him, or just leave and find a new pack together," she said, glancing up and stepping slowly after them. " He's different... he seems to be over whatever internal conflict caused him to attack us all; he treats us as one of his own. " She paused again, nuzzling against Ausbach, then running her tongue softly across Daven's muzzle.
" But of course, I don't care what becomes of him, as long as we're all together."

CHILDREN!

Her mother's voice rang again loudly, and she smiled softly through the pain of the tense situation.
" But it isn't my decision. They're both here somewhere, and when we find them if they want to leave, I'll come along."
Her muzzle curled into a soft smile as she focused on Ausbach.
" I love you brother, you know that. Will you forgive me for staying here?"

You stayed with him? I understand staying with him while you are hurt, but now?

" I know, Daven, it's hard to believe either of us, especially Aqrila could do it. But I was dying, as you understand. Aqrila couldn't take care of me, and after he and that fae kept us, fed us and got me healthy again, we owed him something for not finishing us off while he had the chance," he sighed as he glanced away from his brother's hard face, glancing at the other two before looking at the ground. " I'm not proud of it, but we had to do it to survive."

He stopped to listen to him as he rambled on about their ventures. He sighed again as he redirected his emerald eyes back up at his brother. He hated himself just as much as Aqrila did... But if they couldn't forgive them for doing it, then maybe it wasn't such a bad thing in the first place.

Does your allegiance lie with Kane?

He stayed quiet for several, tense seconds that seemed like an eternity. He was in no question of his loyalty, but having to break the promise with the ebony monster could prove deadly for all of them.
" No," he breathed.

CHILDREN!

" They're here, and they're waiting for us. If you'll forgive us, we should get moving," he said, raising his muzzle to stare into Daven's glistening blue eyes. He heart thumped forcefully with suspense as he waited for the response that would ultimately make or break their family.

Darrian! Darrian!

Oh how sweet it was to hear his name roll from his lover's lips. He'd been dreaming of this moment for so long, and now it was here. He continued to nuzzle and lick her, anything to express the undying affection he'd been unable to express for so long. She returned every gesture, and he felt light-headed as he remembered how amazing it felt to be loved.

Suddenly, her body jerked violently away from his, and he twitched in shock as well.
The pups! she exclaimed, and he nodded instantly.
The realization that all of this was true, and that all of them were here brought back some of the senses he had lost. He could think logically now, instead of the mindless wandering he'd been consumed in for the past year. The nearly insane state he had been forced into, seemed to be nothing but a memory. Seeing his lover again washed away all of his problems and brought his sanity back. Had it not been for the dirty, unhealthy pelt and the exposed ribs, he might have seemed almost normal. He stopped his reunion for a moment, long enough to stand quietly and listen for a response. His black ears stood erect on his cranium as he took in every noise around them.

MOTHER!

The left. Not far away, either. His head turned to the direction he'd heard the call from, and he felt the giddy light-hearted happiness return.
" We should move, they're not that far away," he said, his voice sounding hard and professional until he turned back to her. His heart melted over and over again as he looked at her flawless body, and he smiled as he pressed himself against her again.

" I've waited for this for so long... we all have... let's not postpone it any longer," he said, and with that he started to take a few, unsteady paces away from her. He paused, glancing back and waited for her to follow.
